Why Cryotherapy?

Accelerate your recovery in just three minutes in a state-of-the-art cryotherapy chamber that surrounds your body (from the neck down) with -200F to -220F hyper-cooled air. Used around the world for over two decades Purify Sauna Lounge now provides access to the benefits of whole body cryotherapy to “everyday athletes” with a wide range of activity levels.

Far superior to ice baths, whole body cryotherapy flushes toxins and enriches red blood cells with oxygen, nutrients, and enzymes. WBC works to soothe, comfort, and provide relief in the effort to speed recovery for those who have stressed their muscles, and anyone looking to rejuvenate from the stress of daily life.

What is whole body cryotherapy?

Cryotherapy is exposing your body to extreme cold for therapeutic purposes. Think of it like an accelerated whole body ice bath.

How does it work?

During a 2 to 3 minute session at subzero temperatures the blood vessels in your skin’s surface and muscle tissue constrict, forcing blood away from your peripheral tissues and towards your core. The core (you body’s natural filtration system) works to remove toxins and inflammatory properties in the blood.

After exiting the cryosauna, blood flows back to peripheral tissues. Now enriched with oxygen, nutrients, and enzymes, your blood warms the skin and muscle tissue and increases range of motion.

What Are The Benefits of Cryotherapy?

When ice is applied to a specific area of the body it reduces inflammation. Cryotherapy has the ability to cool the entire body so healing can occur in more than one area at a time.

Reduce chronic pain and fatigue

For those that suffer from chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia or general body pain, cryotherapy reduces both. Some people experience a few hours of relief, while others enjoy a relief that lasts day, and even longer.

Increased metabolism

After your cryotherapy session it takes a lot of energy to reheat the body. During your 2-3 minute treatment, you can burn anywhere from 500-800 calories. Once your skin is cooled to 35 degrees F, it requires along of energy to reheat it to your regular body temperature.

Numbs nerve irritation

Many athletes have been using cryotherapy to treat injuries for years, and one of the reasons is that it can numb pain. The cold can actually numb an irritated nerve. This can help treat pinched nerves or neuromas, chronic pain, or even acute injuries.

Treats Mood Disorders (Anxiety & Depression)

The ultra cold temperatures in whole body cryotherapy can cause physiological hormonal responses. This includes the release of adrenaline, noradrenaline, and endorphins into the bloodstream. This can have a positive effect on those experiencing mood disorders like anxiety and depression.

Reduces Migraine Symptoms

Cryotherapy can help treat migraines by cooling and numbing nerves in the neck area. It’s thought that this works by cooling the blood passing through intracranial vessels.

Boosts Collagen

Cryotherapy can help lessen the appearance of wrinkles, increasing the skin’s collagen. Routine cryotherapy treatments can help rejuvenate the collagen matrix, improving skin’s resilience and reducing the appearance of cellulite and fatty deposits at the skins surface. This can result in a youthful and radiant glow
